Reds make minor trades with Astros, Phillies

The Reds have acquired first baseman Dan Johnson from the Astros in exchange for a player to be named later or cash, the team announced Thursday.

In a separate move, the Reds traded to the infielder Devin Lohman to the Phillies in exchange for a player to be named later or cash.

Johnson, 35, hit .232 with 18 home runs and 19 triples in 107 games with Triple-A Buffalo last year. In 15 games with the Toronto Blue Jays, Johnson went 8-for-28 with one home run and two doubles.

Johnson will report to the Reds’ minor-league camp in Goodyear.
