Reds fans offer support for Hoover after post-loss apology

Tuesday night's ninth inning in St. Louis was a rough one for Reds reliever J.J. Hoover.
Not only did Hoover acknowledge that -- he also took full responsibility for his poor outing, in which he loaded the bases then hit John Jay of the Cardinals with a pitch, sending home the winning run.
Hoover's loss was his 10th of the season, setting a team record for that distinction for a reliever.
Sorry about tonight Reds fans. That was a terrible job on my part. I will continue to work hard but I am sorry I let the team and yall down.— JJ Hoover (@JJ_Hoover) August 20, 2014
While it's been a tough season for the reliever, who has a 5.37 ERA in 52 2/3 innings, Reds fans on Twitter showed their appreciation of Hoover's self accountability.
The 5-4 loss to the Cardinals was the Reds 31st one-run defeat in 2014.
