The Reds have activated second baseman Brandon Phillips from the disabled list.

Phillips will bat sixth in the Reds lineup Monday night when they take on the Cardinals in St. Louis.

A torn ligament in his left thumb had kept Phillips out since July 11.

The Reds also activated reliever Logan Ondrusek, optioning pitcher Dylan Axelrod and catcher Tucker Barnhart to Louisville to make room on the roster for Ondrusek and Phillips.

Ondrusek had been sidelined since July 22 with a strained right shoulder.
