CINCINNATI — One of the biggest Bengals welcomed a tiny addition to his family Wednesday morning.

Melissa Whitworth, wife of left tackle Andrew Whitworth, gave birth to daughter Katherine Kay in the wee morning hours. This is the fourth child for the Whitworths and evens out the score between the boys and girls at two. The couple has twins — Sarah and Drew — and a son Michael.

Whitworth announced the birth on his Twitter account.

Whitworth is in his ninth season with the Bengals since being drafted in the second round in 2006 out of LSU. He began his career playing inside at guard but at 6-feet-7, 330 pounds he has established himself as one of top left tackles in the NFL. When an ACL injury ended left guard Clint Boling’s season last year in December, Whitworth shifted back inside so the Bengals could have Anthony Collins play left tackle and allow the Bengals to have their best possible line combination on the field.

Whitworth has played in 127 games in his career, including 123 starts.
