Zach Farmer, a freshman pitcher for the Buckeyes, was diagnosed with myeloid leukemia two weeks ago, and his teammates gathered Monday to register as potential bone marrow donors.
Farmer, who was leading Ohio State with six victories when he received his diagnosis, has begun chemotherapy treatment while his team winds down the season.
Per BuckeyeSports.com, Ohio State is offering two chances for people to sign up for the donor registry on campus. The first will be Thursday at the Fawcett Center with the second set for Saturday when the Buckeyes host Northwestern at noon at Bill Davis Stadium. Fans may also visit join.marrow.org/zach for more information.
