Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller may be sidelined with a shoulder injury this season, but that's not stopping his teammates from keeping a part of him with them on the field.
Before Saturday's season opener against Navy, Ohio State tight end Jeff Heuerman revealed on Twitter that he would pay tribute to the injured Miller by wearing his jersey No. 5.
Heuerman is a senior from Florida who enrolled in January 2011 with Miller, so the two have been close for some time.
Miller showed his gratitude for the gesture with a tweet of his own.
Miller, a Heisman Trophy hopeful, had what was described as "minor surgery" on his right throwing shoulder in February. He reinjured the shoulder in a practice on Aug. 18.
Redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett is now the man with the spotlight on him in Columbus and will get the start under center for the foreseeable future.
