Buckeyes still in running for 5-star QB

Torrance Gibson lists the Buckeyes among his latest top seven schools still alive in the pursuit for his services.

Ohio State picked up a verbal commitment from a quarterback earlier this week, but the Buckeyes remain in the running for another in their 2015 class.

Torrance Gibson, a 6-4, 207-pound five-star recruit ranked the No. 2 QB in the nation by Scout.com released an updated top seven Thursday evening that includes Ohio State along with Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Miami and UCF.

The Volunteers and Auburn are listed as co-leaders for the Plantation, Fla., native with the Buckeyes checking in fifth.

On Tuesday, Ohio State received a verbal commitment from Joey Burrow, a four-star prospect from Athens, Ohio, who is rated the 26th-best QB in the 2015 class.

With starter Braxton Miller a senior this fall, Ohio State is set to have four quarterbacks on the roster in 2015 in current sophomore Cardale Jones, redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett and true freshman Stephen Collier.
