COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Frederic St. Denis from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

St. Denis is expected to join the club prior to Saturday’s game at Nashville.

The 28-year-old has nine goals and 15 assists with 28 penalty minutes and a plus-14 plus rating in 51 games with Springfield this season.

Before signing with Columbus in July 2013, the 5-foot-11, 192-pound native of Quebec spent four seasons in the Montreal Canadiens’ organization.

The Blue Jackets are down two defensemen due to injuries.
