Last week Miles Austin created quite the jersey discussion when he asked Bernie Kosar for permission to wear the famous number 19.

Sunday on twitter, wide receiver Andrew Hawkins reached out to former Brown Josh Cribbs about wearing number 16.

Hawkins and Cribbs have much in common. They both attended MAC schools, with Cribbs playing quarterback for Kent State and Hawkins being a two-way player for Toledo.

Neither was drafted.

Cribbs signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent and became a star special teams player and part-time receiver. Hawkins worked out with the Browns in 2008, but went unsigned. He played for the Montreal Alouettes for two seasons and eventually caught on with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played three seasons for Cincinnati and signed with the Browns as a restricted free agent.
