Kirilenko said that he's dealt with back spasms about once a season for his entire career, and he anticipates being ready to go Tuesday in Philadelphia. He described the sensation as having a stick in his back, and he's been getting treatment since the pain began.
Josh Howard started for Kirilenko in Los Angeles Wednesday, and he is among the starting five again tonight.
A locker room addition: While the Timberwolves were on their nearly week-long road trip, a cryotheraphy chamber was installed in their locker room. The team went to a cryotherapy facility while in Dallas last season, and several of the players expressed interest in getting one at the Target Center.
Read more about the procedure, which is regarded with varying levels of belief and skepticism in the medical community, in my story from last winter here.
Extra Ricky tidbits: Here's a bit more information about the Ricky Rubio situation that didn't make the main story:
He's wearing a knee sleeve over his left knee, but does not want to wear a brace, and as soon as he feels like he can get rid of the sleeve, he will.
His Foot Locker/adidas commercial, which began airing this week, did involve a bit of stunt double work, he revealed, and he said that the wrestling scene "wasn't contact. It was all fake."
On his mobility in that left knee: "I think it's 100 percent. Maybe one or two degrees less than the other one. But my knee, it feels good. It feels ready to go."
