Vikings lose Todman, sign replacement

Jacksonville has signed Vikings preseason sensation Jordan Todman to its active roster.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings signed undrafted rookie Joe Banyard to their practice squad Tuesday after running back Jordan Todman was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars and placed on their active 53-man roster.

Banyard, 24, spent time with the New Orleans Saints earlier this season but never played in a game and was waived in September. He was originally signed out of UTEP by Jacksonville but was released during the summer.

In his final season at UTEP, Banyard -- 5-foot-11 and 213 pounds -- ran for 832 yards and six touchdowns.

Todman had spent more than a year with the Vikings but hadn’t gotten any game action. In the team’s final preseason game this year, he had 114 yards rushing on 10 carries, including a 76-yard touchdown run. He had spent the entire regular season on the practice squad.
