EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - The Vikings made a pair of roster moves on Monday, slightly augmenting their defensive backfield.
Minnesota claimed Julian Posey, a cornerback, off waivers from Cleveland. In a corresponding move, the Vikings waived cornerback Kip Edwards.
Posey, a second-year man who played collegiately at Ohio, appeared in five games for the Browns in 2013 and recorded 6 tackles and 1 sack. After toiling with the Miami Dolphins in training camp last season, Posey was signed by Cleveland to their practice squad in September. In 2012, Posey appeared in a pair of games with the Dolphins.
Originally signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2011, Posey spent 15 weeks of the 2011 campaign on the Jets' practice squad.
Edwards had one year of pro experience, after playing collegiately at Missouri.
