Seminoles to visit Gophers in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

MINNEAPOLIS — The Gophers men's basketball team will have a home game for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, as Minnesota will host Florida State in this year's event.

The Seminoles will visit Williams Arena on Dec. 3, although the time of the game has not yet been set. It will be the ninth meeting between Minnesota and Florida State. The two schools played as recently as last year when the Gophers topped the Seminoles 77-68 in Tallahassee in last year's Big Ten/ACC Challenge. In the first 14 years of the event, the ACC is 10-3-1 against the Big Ten.

Minnesota is 6-8 overall in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and has won its last two games in the event. The Gophers are entering their first season under new head coach Richard Pitino, who takes over for Tubby Smith after Smith was fired following six seasons at the helm.
