Frazier: Harvin had emergency appendectomy

Following Minnesota's 36-22 win at St. Louis Sunday, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said Harvin underwent an "emergency" appendectomy. Harvin is out for the season after being placed on injured reserve two weeks ago with a badly sprained ankle that wasn't showing enough progress to return this season.
At the time, Frazier said the hope was to avoid surgery on Harvin's ankle and continue his current rehabilitation. Looks like that continues to be the case, at least for now. Harvin, who last played in Week 9, still leads the team with 62 catches for 677 yards.
After Harvin tweeted, "Having minor surgery today, keep me in your prayers please!" on Saturday, it was believed to be for the ankle. Sunday was Frazier's first chance to comment on the surgery.
