FOX Sports North, Minnesota Twins announce 2017 TV schedule

Published Feb. 28, 2017 10:17 a.m. ET

FOX Sports North and the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday announced a 150-game telecast schedule for the 2017 season that will once again see the network serve as the exclusive local television home for the Minnesota Twins.

FOX Sports North’s regular-season coverage begins Monday, April 3, with the Twins home opener against Kansas City, marking the first of 19 televised games against the Royals. Coverage begins at 2 p.m. CT with a special one-hour edition of Twins Live.

The team is slated to take the national stage twice as the FOX broadcast network and FS1 features Minnesota at San Diego on Aug. 1, as well as a game in Detroit on Sept. 23.

Highlights of the 2017 season schedule includes 17 games against the division rival Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers, five contests with the New York Yankees, two match-ups against the Boston Red Sox and a home-and-home series against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Emmy Award-winning play-by-play announcer Dick Bremer enters his 34th season in the booth alongside an impressive lineup of Twins alumni, including MLB Hall of Famer Bert Blyleven, four-time World Series champion Jack Morris and 1987 Twins World Series champion Roy Smalley, as well as newcomers Torii Hunter and LaTroy Hawkins.

The team of analysts will be on a rotating schedule and work alongside Bremer throughout the season.

Hunter makes his debut in the broadcast booth on April 21 and Hawkins joins Bremer for the first time on May 16.

Also contributing to FOX Sports North’s Twins coverage as sideline reporters during the 2017 season are Marney Gellner, Kevin Gorg and Audra Martin.

Twins Live presented by Century Link, the network’s half-hour pre and postgame show, returns with hosts Tom Hanneman and Anthony LaPanta, alongside ‘87 Twins World Series champion Tim Laudner.

As previously announced, FOX Sports North will televise a total of 11 Minnesota Twins spring training games from the Grapefruit League in Florida, beginning Saturday, March 4 at 12 p.m.

Fans can prepare for the Twins’ 2017 season with Twins Season Preview, which premieres on Wednesday, Mar. 15 at 10 p.m.

All games will be streamed live on FOX Sports GO. Fans can download the mobile app for free from the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store and Windows Store. To stream games, users will need to verify credentials by signing in with their pay-TV provider's user ID and password. There is no additional charge to use FOX Sports GO.

FOX Sports North reaches more than 2 million homes throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and North and South Dakota and telecasts nearly 2,600 hours of locally produced programming per year.
