MINNEAPOLIS — There’s almost a full month remaining in the 2014 Major League Baseball season, but the schedule for 2015 has been released.
The Twins will open the 2015 season on the road with a three-game series at Detroit starting on April 6. Minnesota will then play a three-game series in Chicago against the White Sox before returning home. The Twins’ season opener will be on April 13 against the Kansas City Royals, with the series finishing on April 15 and 16.
Also of note on the Twins’ 2015 schedule are two series against the neighbors to the east, the Milwaukee Brewers. Unlike the 2014 season that saw the two teams play each other in a pair of two-game, midweek series, Minnesota and Milwaukee will each host a three-game weekend series. The Brewers will come to Target Field from June 5-7, while the Twins will travel to Miller Park for three games June 26-28.
Minnesota will face the rest of the National League Central this year, including home games against the Cardinals (June 17-18), Cubs (June 19-21), and Pirates (July 28-29). The Twins will travel to Pittsburgh (May 19-20), St. Louis (June 15-16), and Cincinnati (June 29-July 1) to round out interleague play.
June and July will be the busiest months at Target Field, as the Twins play 14 home games in each of those months. Minnesota is home just 10 times in April.
The Twins are also guaranteed to be playing baseball in October in 2015. Minnesota closes the season with a three-game series at Target Field against Kansas City that runs Oct. 2-4.
