Peterson, who missed practice Wednesday to be at the funeral of a 2-year-old son in Sioux Falls, S.D., practiced in a limited basis on Thursday and was held out entirely Friday because of tightness in his hamstring.
"His hamstring was a little tight, so we held him out of practice," Frazier said. "I think he'll be fine with a day of rest and be able to go tomorrow."
Left tackle Matt Kalil, dealing with tightness in his back, was also held out of Friday's practice, but is expected to return on Saturday. Minnesota has an extra day of preparation this week for the Monday night game in New York against the Giants.
"We kept (Kalil) inside just to do some things with him, but he should be able to practice tomorrow also," Frazier said.
Cornerback A.J. Jefferson missed his second straight day of practice with an ankle. Frazier said Jefferson might practice on Saturday.
Kicker Blair Walsh (left hamstring), cornerback Xavier Rhodes (ankle), defensive tackle Kevin Williams, and defensive end Jared Allen (ankle) were listed as limited participants for Friday's practice. Allen is a new injury added to the injury report.
Receiver Jarius Wright (ankle), tight end Rhett Ellison (knee), quarterback Christian Ponder (rib) and center John Sullivan (hand) were full participants in practice.
