News: Vokoun announced his retirement Monday after 15 NHL seasons, Mike Brehm of USA Today reports.
Impact: The 38-year-old missed all of last season with multiple blood clots in his pelvis, an issue that had dogged him at previous points in his career. Though he's now seemingly healthy, Vokoun's advanced age and history with the blood clots likely made teams reluctant to sign him this offseason. The netminder ends his career with a 300-288-78 record and 2.55 GAA across 15 seasons with the Predators, Panthers, Capitals and Penguins.
