Impact: The 24-year-old defenseman appeared in nine NHL games last season, totaling nine shots, seven penalty minutes, and a plus-1 rating. He spent most of the season with the AHL Stars where he led the team with a plus-15 rating to go along with three goals and 15 assists through 65 games.

News: Lindback's role with the Stars this coming season has become clouded due to the team signing goaltender Jussi Rynnas to a two-year, one-way contract.
Impact: The fact that Rynnas's contract is one-way is surprising. That means that it isn't a guarantee that Lindback has the backup job behind Kari Lehtonen. There's a good chance either Lindback or Rynnas has to clear waivers at some point to head down to the AHL, and that leaves the possibility that Lindback won't be with Dallas long unless the team plans on carrying three goaltenders. The Stars' goaltending situation will be one to watch in training camp.
