Flyers F Couturier rehabbing after successful ab surgery

The Philadelphia Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced Wednesday that forward Sean Couturier is working his way back from a surgery he had last week.
“Sean Couturier had successful abdominal surgery this past Friday,” Hextall said, according to the team’s website. “He has started rehab at our training facility and should be fully recovered in 5-6 weeks.”
Last month, team GM-turned-president Paul Holmgren had said Couturier might need surgery to fix a potential stomach muscle sports hernia.
“I think there was a point in January where he was checked," Holmgren had said, according to the flyers.nhl.com. "But it was never at the point where we had to do anything other than maintenance."
Regardless, Couturier played in every one of the Flyers’ games in 2013-14. He recorded 39 points in the 82 regular season contests but was pointless and a minus-3 in Philadelphia’s seven-game series loss to the Rangers in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
In 205 NHL games over three seasons, Couturier has posted 30 goals and 51 assist for the Flyers.
