New York Islanders forward Josh Bailey has been playing at an outstanding level and is building chemistry with John Tavares, much to New York Islanders fan’s delight.
Josh Bailey has always been looked at as a bust and a failure to most New York Islanders fans, but the way he’s playing right now, he’s proving his doubters wrong. His playmaking ability he once showed before becoming an Islander is starting to show.
Ever since Josh Bailey was put on the first line with John Tavares, he has been putting up some great stats. Bailey has scored 3 goals along with assisting on 10 others, which puts him at 13 points this season.
Making him 3rd in points on the Islanders (behind Brock Nelson and John Tavares). Also, Bailey has put up 5 points in his past 5 games and is consistently putting up points in dire situations. He’s also on a point-per-game pace at the moment. Putting up 5 points in his past 5 games.
Not only is he helping out the team, but he’s also setting a new high for himself. As of right now, Bailey is on pace to finish the season with 52 points, which is a staggering 11 point improvement from his previous best at 41.
Filling In For Okposo
Bailey has stepped up when the Islanders really needed him, as he took Kyle Okposo’s spot as Tavares’s right-hand man, and he’s doing a great job at it. Bailey has set up Tavares a lot this season, including this amazing goal against Calgary:
As well as producing offensively, Bailey has also had success on the penalty kill and the defensive zone as well, he can play in any situation and do an at least satisfactory job in it as well.
