Linesman leaves game after being bowled over by Penguins player

A lot of people (deservingly) give credit to hockey players that play through injury, so it's only fair we give some love to officials who do the same.

Linesman David Brisebois had to leave Sunday's game between the Penguins and Panthers in the first period after being trucked from behind by Pittsburgh's Patric Hornqvist. The winger was shoved into Brisebois and delivered an elbow straight to the official's back, which left him lying on the ice in pain for a few moments.

Eventually, he made his way down the tunnel and wasn't seen for the rest of the period. But Brisebois was back on the ice for the start of the second frame and finished the rest of the contest, confirming that he's got some toughness in him.

If I get steamrolled from behind, I'm probably taking the entire week off and milking that injury for all it's worth. And that, my friends, is why I'm writing about hockey and not playing it.
