Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Star Gazing

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks can dust off that 1-0 overtime loss to the New York Rangers tonight as they host the Dallas Stars at the United Center and best of all it’s one of those great 6pm starts.

Before the season started if you said which team in the Central Division do you think will be leading and which team would be struggling outside the wild card race. Who would pick the Chicago Blackhawks as the division leader and who would have the Dallas Stars??

I must say as we are just past the quarter mark of the season that I’m still surprised that the Chicago Blackhawks are sitting on top of the Central Division.  When I watch them they don’t seem to be dominating any of these game (throw out the Coyotes game) yet they find a way to score one more goal than their opponent. I still don’t know if this is a reflection of the NHL this year of if the Hawks are better than I think they are this season.

The Dallas Stars on the other hand behind Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn were supposed to take the next giant leap into winning the Central Division on their way to heading to the Stanley Cup Final. Their defense and goaltending has been subpar all season long which has placed them outside the playoff brackets at the quarter mark of the season.

Granted with hockey or any other sport, all it takes is a big win to get momentum rolling, so don’t expect the Hawks to win easily tonight at the United Center.  It will be fun to see what happens tonight, but one thing I want to see is some goals after Friday night’s regulation shut out.
