Kubina played for the Czechs at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has 171 points in his NHL career. But he is still dealing with a concussion he suffered during the Stanley Cup finals against the Calgary Flames. Fischer has no previous experience in international competition. The 24-year- old was part of Detroit's Stanley Cup championship in 2002, and through 283 career games with the Red Wings, has tallied eight goals and 44 assists. The Czech national team will participate in the European pool during the tournament, and opens training camp next week. Earlier this week, Petr Sykora officially replaced Robert Lang for the Czechs.
