Murray has compiled a 171-132-47-21 record, marking the second best winning percentage in franchise history among those coaches who have served at least one full season. He also guided Team Canada to the gold medal at the World Championships last spring.
Los Angeles, which is 21-15-13-5 this season, also gave assistant coaches Mark Hardy, Ray Bennett and John Van Boxmeer and goaltending consultant Andy Nowicki multi-year extensions.
Hardy, 44, and the 41-year-old Bennett have been assistant coaches under Murray since 1999. Nowicki, 55, was named as the team's goaltending consultant in 2001, while the 50-year-old Van Boxmeer has been an assistant coach with the
