O'Donnell played with the Boston Bruins last season, posting one goal and 10 assists to go along with 110 penalty minutes. He had a rating of plus-10 and helped the Bruins to the Northeast Division title with 104 points. "Sean plays solid, consistent defense," said Coyotes general manager Mike Barnett. "He is physical and at the same time durable. Offensively he will help our breakout where previously we have seen too many turnovers. Needless to say, we expect Sean to log a lot of minutes with us." In 10 NHL seasons, the 32-year-old O'Donnell has skated with Los Angeles, Minnesota, New Jersey and Boston, recording 21 goals with 119 assists in 693 career games. O'Donnell has proved to be durable as he has played in 552 of a possible 574 games and has played in at least 80 games in six of the last seven campaigns.
