Boom! Devils re-sign John Madden

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - The New Jersey Devils locked up a pair of key players Thursday, re-signing free agent forwards John Madden and Jay Pandolfo. As per team policy, terms of the deal were not released. Madden, 31, played in 80 regular-season games last season and posted 12 goals and 23 assists. Madden, who has played six seasons in New Jersey, also was a finalist for the Frank Selke Trophy, recognized for the NHL's top defensive forward. He had no points in five playoff games against Philadelphia. In 400 career games, the Barrie, Ontario native has 85 goals and 78 assists. Pandolfo appeared in all 82 regular-season contests and registered 13 goals and 13 assists. The 29-year-old Winchester, Massachusetts native has 55 goals and 78 helpers in 488 career games. Pandolfo, who has played seven years with the Devils, also collected no points versus the Flyers. According to team president, CEO and general manager Lou Lamoriello, both players inked multi-year contracts.
