Today the NHL announced the 40 names who have been chosen to represent their teams at the 2017 NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles on Jan. 28 and 29.
On January 28-29, Los Angeles plays host to the 62nd NHL All-Star Game. The format from last year’s All-Star Weekend in Nashville has returned this season, with the Skills Competition on Saturday and a 3-on-3 tournament on Sunday. The Pacific Division took the tournament last year with a 9-6 win over Team Central and a 1-0 shutout of Team Atlantic in the final.
A number of players will be making their NHL All-Star Game debuts this year, including rookies Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Patrik Laine of the Winnipeg Jets. Connor McDavid will be captaining Team Pacific in his first ASG appearance thanks to the Fan Vote in December.
As well as McDavid, Sidney Crosby was voted in to captain the Metropolitan Division and P.K. Subban to wear the C for the Central Division. Carey Price will become the first goalie captain in All-Star history after the fans named him captain of the Atlantic Division.
