News: Howden appears to be scratched from Thursday night's lineup against the visiting Ducks, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact: This news isn't likely to create much uproar in the fantasy realm as Howden is a low-end forward with limited upside handling the puck. The 23-year-old only has four points in 16 games, with 45 hits providing the bulk of his fantasy value.
Rotowire: Oct 21 / 12:02a ET
News: Howden notched his first two points of the season Tuesday, scoring a goal and adding an assist in an overtime loss to the Penguins. He finished plus-2 with three shots and four hits.
Impact: Howden powered the Panthers' third-period comeback by becoming the first to break through against Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury at 11:04, and less than three minutes later, he helped out on Derek MacKenzie's first goal of the year to tie the game. A first-round pick in 2010, Howden's seen his development stagnate since his 30-point AHL debut in 2012-13 and is skating fourth-line minutes, so there's not much to see here from a fantasy perspective.

News: Howden has earned a roster spot with the Panthers to begin the season, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact: Howden has 34 games of NHL experience, but spent last season exclusively with the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL, having recorded a plus-14 rating, three goals and 15 assists through 33 games. Best known for his blazing speed, Howden is under a one-year, two-way contract this season, making him a candidate to shuffle about the organizational ranks.
