The San Jose Sharks were able to jump into the top five in the Power Rankings thanks to the play of Joe Pavelski. The 26-year-old center led the league in scoring in Week 23, posting 11 points in four games off three goals and eight assists. Pavelski's four multiple-point games allowed the Sharks to retain first place in the Pacific Division.

Who was your team's top performer last week? Read on to find out.

(Note: The Power Rankings will be based on a formula of points earned divided by the maximum amount of points possible [points/games played x 2]. In case of a tie, categories such as wins, goals against, goals for, power play goals and power play percentage will determine rankings.)

(.625) By splitting the two games they played last week, the Penguins kept themselves in the hunt for the division and conference crowns. More important, the team's points and goals leader, Sidney Crosby, skated last week after being out of the lineup since Jan. 5.

(.620) Tuukka Rask helped the Bruins put an end to a four-game losing streak when he made 34 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped all three Columbus attempts in the shootout in a 3-2 road win last Tuesday. But Boston comes into Week 24 having lost six of its last seven games.

(.597) Chicago picked up two wins in three tries last week but may have lost All-Star winger Patrick Sharp in the process. Sharp, who collected four assists in a 6-3 win over the Sharks last Monday, collided with Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla in the Blackhawks' 2-1 victory Sunday.

(.596) By winning two of the four games they played last week, the Canadiens stayed in the running for a shot at the Northeast Division title. P.K. Subban helped the Habs keep their division title hopes alive by registering six points in Montreal's four games last week.

(.528) Cam Ward just about single-handedly kept the 'Canes in contention for a postseason berth, stopping 75 of the 77 shots he faced in Carolina's two wins. Ward had to be perfect on March 15 in order for the Hurricanes to skate away with a 1-0 win over the Sabres.

(.528) The low-scoring Blue Jackets had trouble finding the back of the net in two of their three losses last week. In a combined 50 shots against the Devils and Red Wings, Columbus failed to score a goal. That’s four times this season the club has been shut out.

(.500) After dropping two of three last week and three of their past five, the Thrashers playoff hopes are fading fast. The Thrashers closed out Week 23 by getting trounced 8-2 by the Buffalo Sabres, one of the clubs in the East ahead of them in the playoff picture.

(.466) The only positive to come out of Week 23 for New York was that its No. 1 goalie, Rick DiPietro, returned to make his first start in six weeks. DiPietro made 29 saves in regulation and overtime and two more in the shootout in a 4-3 road win over the Florida Panthers on Saturday.
