News: Brouwer scored the winning goal to propel the Capitals to a 5-4 overtime win over the Bruins on Friday. Impact: Brouwer cashed in on great forechecking by Jason Chimera during the extra frame. Brouwer has looked sharp in the first week of preseason, and seems poised to start the season on the team's second line. Brouwer is also getting significant time on the team's primary power-play unit and getting chances with the man advantage. Given that he's available in mid to late rounds, Brouwer has significant sleeper upside as the regular season approaches, and is worth a flier in most drafts.(RotoWire, )

News: Brouwer finished with a goal and an assist to go along with three shots in 18:00 of ice time during Monday's 5-4 preseason loss to the Flyers. Impact: Both of Brouwer's points came on the power play. He played on an even-strength line with Evgeny Kuznetsov, believed to have the inside track on the team's second-line center job. It's looking like Brouwer will be a fixture on a scoring line in DC this coming season, giving the power forward some sleeper potential in deeper leagues.(RotoWire, )
