News: Skinner (concussion) will make his regular season debut Tuesday at Winnipeg, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports. "He looks hungry and ready to go," head coach Bill Peters said. Impact: Skinner missed the Canes' first four games of the season after suffering the injury during the preseason, but has reportedly looked sharp in practices lately. He will try to provide a boost to a struggling Carolina squad that's still looking for its first win of the season (0-2-2).(RotoWire, )

News: Skinner (concussion) was activated from injured reserve Friday, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports. Impact: Although Skinner was unable to return to action Thursday as the Hurricanes had hoped, it appears that with a few practices over the weekend, he'll make his season debut in the team's next game on Oct. 21 versus Winnipeg. Skinner skated on the second line with Victor Rask and Elias Lindholm at Friday's practice, and it appears he'll stick there once the Hurricanes resume play. His return should be a welcome development for a scoring-starved Hurricanes squad that had already been playing without both Staal brothers.(RotoWire, )

News: Skinner (concussion) has been ruled out of Thursday's contest versus the Rangers, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports. Impact: Skinner joined the Hurricanes in New York and was on the ice for morning skate, but with only one full-contact practice on his ledger since sustaining the concussion, coach Bill Peters understandably wasn't comfortable using him Thursday. The Hurricanes will receive a much-needed five-day break in the schedule after Thursday's tilt, which should allow Skinner to pick up enough practice time before the team plays its next game Tuesday against Winnipeg.(RotoWire, )

News: Skinner (concussion) ditched his no-contact jersey at Wednesday's practice. Impact: Skinner will travel with the Hurricanes to New York in advance of Thursday's game with the Rangers, with a decision on his status for the contest to come down following morning skate. With three of the Hurricanes' other top players in Eric Staal, Jordan Staal and Andrej Sekera seemingly unlikely to play Thursday, Skinner's potential return would represent a welcome development.(RotoWire, )

News: Skinner (concussion) could return to the lineup Thursday against the Rangers, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports. Impact: Skinner will skate in Tuesday's morning skate, but won't be in the lineup against the Sabres. He could return Thursday, though, to make his season debut, and provide an offensive threat for the injury riddled Canes.(RotoWire, )

News: Coach Bill Peters said Skinner is "getting real close" to returning after suffering a concussion during a preseason game Oct. 5 at Washington. Impact: The coach said Skinner skated alone Monday, is expected to skate with the team before Tuesday night's game and "hopefully by Thursday, he'll be ready to go."(STATS, 9:16pm)

News: Skinner (concussion) was placed on injured reserve by the Hurricanes on Sunday, Arpon Basu of LNH.com reports. Impact: Skinner suffered the concussion in an Oct. 5 preseason game and missed the team's first two games as a result. His placement on injured reserve likely means he will be out longer, though concussions don't typically have a timetable.(RotoWire, )
