News: Eakin chipped in two assists in Saturday's victory over the Sharks. Impact: Eakin has fit in quite well while playing on the top line with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin for the last three games, producing two goals and three assists. Given the immense talents of the two players flanking him, there's reason to think Eakin can continue producing at a decent rate while he remains on the top line. Those in search of forward help would be wise to take a flier on Eakin in the event coach Lindy Ruff decides to keep him with the top trio for the balance of the season.(RotoWire, )

News: Eakin scored a goal for the second consecutive game in Thursday's win over the Coyotes. Impact: After a nine-game scoring skid, Eakin's found his offensive game again, but that's come along with mighty struggles in faceoffs -- he's won just 15 of 44 over the last two games. Still, most fantasy formats are more concerned with the points, and Eakin should put up enough of those to be viable in deep formats.(RotoWire, )

News: Eakin contributed a goal and assist in Tuesday's loss to the Hurricanes. Impact: Though the Stars ended up taking the loss, Eakin's performance was impressive enough for coach Lindy Ruff to give him a look as the top-line center alongside Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin at Wednesday's practice, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News. Eakin's assist Tuesday came on a Seguin goal, while Benn helped set up Eakin's third-period shorthanded marker. If trio can find similar success together Thursday against the Coyotes, Eakin could end up enjoying some long-term run on the top line.(RotoWire, )

News: Eakin (upper body) was on the ice for warmups and will play Thursday against the Kings, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. Impact: Eakin was expected to return Thursday from an upper-body injury that caused him to miss three games, and that has now been confirmed. He will center the second line alongside Antoine Roussel and Ryan Garbutt.(RotoWire, )

Impact: Eakin was able to fully practice Wednesday, but coach Lindy Ruff wants to check him out at Thursday's morning skate before placing the forward back in his lineup. The 23-year-old has missed the last three games with the upper-body injury.(RotoWire, )

News: Eakin (upper body) won't play in Tuesday's game against the Coyotes, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. Impact: Though Eakin will miss his third straight game, coach Lindy Ruff noted the forward was very close to cracking the lineup, making Thursday's contest against the Kings a likely target date for his return. Curtis McKenzie seems likely to be displaced from the Dallas lineup once Eakin is ready to go.(RotoWire, )
