News: Kreider and the New York Rangers agreed on a two-year deal shortly before going to arbitration. The 23-year-old Kreider made a deal Wednesday morning with an average salary of $2.475 million moments before the scheduled hearing. He will receive $2.35 million next season and $2.6 million during 2015-16. Impact: Kreider had 17 goals and 20 assists in 66 regular-season games. During the playoffs, the left wing had five goals and eight assists in 15 games. He returned for Game 4 of New York's second-round series against Pittsburgh after missing a month with a broken left hand. He sat out nine regular-season games and 10 in the playoffs.(STATS, 5:57pm)

News: Kreider was able to avoid an arbitration hearing by agreeing with the Rangers on a two-year, $4.95 million contract Wednesday, The Record's Andrew Gross reports. Impact: The 23-year-old reached the deal just before his scheduled 9 a.m. hearing, leaving the Rangers with approximately $6 million remaining under the salary cap. As a rookie last season, Kreider produced 17 goals and 20 assists in 66 games before hand surgery in late March cost him much of the final quarter of the campaign. He ended up providing a big boost to the Rangers in the playoffs as they made their run to the Stanley Cup Finals, totaling five goals and eight assists in 15 contests.(RotoWire, )
