News: Gunnarsson (hip) will not play in either of the Blues' back-to-back weekend tilts, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Impact: Gunnarsson resumed taking contact in practice earlier this week, but he's still trying to make up for the extensive time he missed in training camp with the hip concern. The Blues recalled Petteri Lindbohm from AHL Chicago as insurance on defense for the weekend contests, but will likely return him to the minors next week if Gunnarsson is ready to go as expected.(RotoWire, )

News: Gunnarsson (hip) was on the ice Tuesday as a participant in full-contact practice, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Impact: Coach Ken Hitchcock noted that Gunnarsson looked good during the session, while seeing involvement in every drill. Gunnarsson is considered doubtful to play Thursday versus the Kings due to his limited practice time thus far, but a return to action in one or both of the Blues' final two games of the road trip over the weekend seems plausible.(RotoWire, )

News: Gunnarsson (hip) will not be placed on injured reserve to begin the season, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Impact: Gunnarsson has already been ruled out for at least the first week of the season, but the Blues will attempt to get by with 22 players for the time being while their schedule remains light. In avoiding the IR move, the Blues will be able to save some salary cap space in the short term. However, if Gunnarsson's condition doesn't improve as quickly as anticipated, the team may be forced to make a roster move.(RotoWire, )
