News: Ward allowed three goals on 24 shots and took his fourth straight loss to open the season Tuesday in Vancouver. Impact: Sad as it may seem, this qualifies as Ward's second-best start in the early going. Neither he nor Anton Khudobin has been able to deliver a win over Carolina's first eight contests, which at least leaves the door open for Ward to see more chances until Khudobin gets his game together.(RotoWire, )

News: Ward will be in the crease for Tuesday's game against the Canucks, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' website reports. Impact: Ward owns an ugly 4.25 GAA after three starts, and he will face a stiff test Tuesday in Vancouver against a Canucks team that currently sits fifth in the league with 3.25 goals per game. Fantasy owners will likely want to look elsewhere Tuesday.(RotoWire, )

News: Ward, making his first start since Oct. 14, allowed five goals on 24 shots in Thursday's loss to the Flames. Impact: Another poor effort from Ward, who's now given up five goals twice in his three outings this year and hasn't posted a save percentage higher than .885 in an outing. It looks like the decline that he's been going through over the last few seasons is here to stay.(RotoWire, )

News: Ward will be back in the net Thursday against the Flames. Impact: After Anton Khudobin played respectably in the Hurricanes' last two games against the Rangers and Jets, Ward may need a strong showing of his own Thursday to ensure that a timeshare remains in place. Ward, who hasn't played since Oct. 14, was terrible in his first two turns of the season, posting a horrendous .846 save percentage in losses to the Islanders and Sabres.(RotoWire, )

News: Ward stopped just 21 shots in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Islanders. Impact: It was a disappointing showing for Ward, who has now dropped four straight season openers. Fantasy owners should be patient with the former Conn Smythe Trophy winner.(STATS, 10:38am)
