News: Kopitar (upper body) didn't take part in line rushes during morning skate and is expected to be scratched Thursday against the Penguins, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. Impact: Along with fellow injured forwards Trevor Lewis and Marian Gaborik, Kopitar remained on the ice for extra work following the morning session, suggesting he's not yet ready to return. While Kopitar will miss his second straight game, the cap-strapped Kings were fortunate enough to be granted an emergency recall Thursday to ice a healthy 20 skaters, an option that wasn't available to them Tuesday against the Flyers.(RotoWire, )

News: Kopitar (upper body) didn't join the Kings on the ice for pregame warmups and looks like he can be ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Flyers, Jim Fox of FOX Sports West reports. Impact: Though coach Darryl Sutter offered a glimmer of hope that Kopitar could possibly suit up Tuesday despite everything else at morning skate suggesting otherwise, the center will be forced to sit for the first time this season. While it doesn't sound like his injury is severe, it's serious enough to knock him out of a contest the Kings could desperately use him -- or any other player, for that matter. Kopitar's injury and the Kings' inability to add a call-up from the minors due to salary cap restrictions will force the team to ice just 19 players Tuesday.(RotoWire, )

News: Updating a previous report, coach Darryl Sutter hasn't ruled Kopitar (upper body) out for Tuesday's game against the Flyers, according to Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider. Though Kopitar skated on a line with the Kings' injured players Tuesday morning rather than with his healthy mates on the top line, Sutter said the forward looked like he was "ready to go." Impact: Sutter is famously evasive when it comes to confirming his lineups after morning skate, so although his quote would suggest Kopitar might be available Tuesday, nothing figures to be known definitively until pregame warmups, or possibly even the minutes leading up to the puck drop. Further complicating matters is that the indefinite suspension of Slava Voynov has left the team unable to call up an extra forward, forcing the Kings to play a man down if Kopitar is unable to go. Even if Kopitar is listed as active Tuesday, it seems like a stretch to say that he'd be functioning at full strength, making him a risky choice in daily formats.(RotoWire, )

News: GM Dean Lombardi said Kopitar (upper body) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Flyers, according to Lisa Dillman of the LA Times. Impact: Kopitar was able to skate Tuesday morning, but he is not feeling good enough to take the ice Tuesday night. Due to salary cap restrictions, the Kings will be forced to play a man down Tuesday. Fortunately, it doesn't sound like Kopitar's injury is severe, and he remains a possibility to play Thursday.(RotoWire, )

News: The Kings have yet to decide whether or not Kopitar (upper body) will play in Tuesday's game against the Flyers, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. Impact: Kopitar participated in Tuesday's morning skate, but he skated as an extra during line rushes, so it seems likely he will be held out Tuesday. The Kings will not call up a player to take Kopitar's place due to cap reasons, so if he sits out, the Kings will play a man down Tuesday night.(RotoWire, )

News: Kopitar (upper body) is traveling with the team to Philadelphia for Tuesday's matchup with the Flyers, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports. Impact: Kopitar's status for Tuesday's game has not been determined yet, but the team stated that his injury is not serious, so fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief. The star center has two goals and an assist on the season, and should be back in the lineup before too long.(RotoWire, )

News: Kopitar scored a goal on the power play in Thursday's victory over the Sabres. Impact: The points haven't been coming as often as they have in the past, with just two goals and an assist so far. Still, centering the first line and the primary power play unit, Kopitar figures to be one of the top center options out there.(RotoWire, )
