News: Stalock allowed four goals on 29 shots in a 4-0 loss to the Rangers on Sunday. Impact: Stalock had been solid in his first two starts, but was shakier on Sunday, lowlighted by a three-goal second period that included two goals in four seconds. So far, the Sharks' two goalies have alternated games, and Sunday's effort didn't help Stalock's case to become the full-time starter.(RotoWire, )

News: Stalock put a stop to 42 of 45 shots Thursday against the Isles, but was toppled in the shootout. Impact: Stalock held the fort despite facing nearly twice as many pucks as opposing netminder Jaroslav Halak, which should count in his favor despite the losing outcome. He's played well in both of his starts so far this year, while Antti Niemi's got a good one and a bad one. Stalock's going to need Niemi to have some more bad ones while staying strong himself if he wants to take over the starting role.(RotoWire, )

News: Stalock will be between the pipes for Thursday's game against the Islanders, CSN Bay Area's Kevin Kurz reports. Impact: Stalock shut out the Jets on Saturday in his first start of the season, but he will hard pressed to replicate that feat Thursday against an Islanders team that's scored 15 goals over its first three games of the season.(RotoWire, )

News: Stalock turned in a 30-save shutout Saturday in a 3-0 victory over the Jets. Impact: After Antti Niemi upped the ante with a shutout of the Kings in the season opener, Stalock didn't give an inch in the battle for top goaltending duties. Despite some sloppy play from his mates, Stalock helped the cause with a number of difficult saves, earning the the game's first star honors en route to his third career shutout. Expect the Sharks to turn the net back over to Niemi for Tuesday's match with the Capitals, with coach Todd McLellan likely to adopt an alternate starting pattern with his goalies while they both play well.(RotoWire, )

News: Stalock will be in the crease Saturday against the Jets, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports. Impact: Stalock was expected to start after leading the Sharks off the ice at Friday's practice, as it appears coach Todd McLellan will give the young goalie a fair chance at usurping Antti Niemi for No. 1 netminding duties. Stalock, who went 12-5-2 with a 1.87 GAA and .932 save percentage in 24 games, will get a stiff test to begin his 2014-15 campaign. The Jets tore up the Coyotes for six goals in Thursday's season opener and have a wealth of offensive options at their disposal.(RotoWire, )
