News: Stalock underwent minor surgery on his left knee Thursday and is expected to miss around two-to-four weeks, Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News reports. Impact: The timetable isn't necessarily firm, so if Stalock is able to resume skating quickly, he could end up beating that recovery window. Nonetheless, it looks like at the very least, Antti Niemi will assume the next several starts in goal for the Sharks, as newly-recalled backup Troy Grosenick is unlikely to see much work behind him.(RotoWire, )

News: Stalock is dealing with a lower-body injury, Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News reports. Impact: Stalock was inexplicably scratched from Tuesday's scheduled start in favor of Antti Niemi, with news that he was hurting not surfacing until the Sharks placed him on injured reserve Wednesday. It appears Stalock's injury stems from his previous start Saturday against the Stars, during which he took a hit from Antoine Roussel and fell to the ice for a few moments before remaining in the game. An official timetable hasn't been announced for his recovery, though coach Todd McLellan acknowledged that newly-recalled goalie Troy Grosenick would be with the Sharks "for a little while." Expect McLellan to lean even more heavily on Niemi while Stalock remains unavailable for the Sharks.(RotoWire, )

News: The San Jose Sharks have placed Stalock on injured reserve. Impact: The Sharks' backup goaltender, who has a lower-body injury, was 2-2-1 with a 2.38 goals-against average in five games.(STATS, 11:04pm)

News: Stalock was placed on injured reserve Thursday with an undisclosed injury. Impact: Stalock's surprising move to injured reserve comes just a day after coach Todd McLellan scratched him from an expected start because he "wasn't able to go." McLellan didn't elaborate on what forced Stalock out of action, but it should become more apparent in the coming days what might be ailing him. Stalock's value had plummeted in recent weeks with Antti Niemi solidifying himself as the clear No. 1 starter for the Sharks, and the backup's value could only dip from here. Troy Grosenick was recalled from AHL Worcester in a corresponding move, but he seems unlikely to see much usage behind Niemi while Stalock is out.(RotoWire, )

News: Despite coach Todd McLellan's announcement at Tuesday's morning skate that Stalock would start later that night against the Panthers, Antti Niemi ended up getting the nod, Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News reports. Impact: Both of the San Jose goalies took part in warmups in what amounted to some subterfuge on the part of McLellan and frustration on the part of fantasy players. If nothing else, McLellan's decision to start Niemi for the seventh time in eight games further indicates that he's clearly separated himself as the Sharks' No. 1 option ahead of Stalock.(RotoWire, )

News: Stalock will be in the cage Tuesday against the Panthers, Curtis Pashelka of the Contra Costa Times reports. Impact: Stalock will earn his second turn in three games after pulling out a 37-save win Saturday against the Stars. Tuesday will mark the beginning of a stretch of four games in six days for the Sharks, who figure to give two starts apiece to Stalock and top netminder Antti Niemi. After Tuesday's outing, look for Stalock to make his second turn of the week either Saturday in Columbus or Sunday in Carolina, either of which would represent a favorable matchup.(RotoWire, )

News: Stalock made 37 saves on 40 shots in Saturday's win over Dallas. Impact: Even though he appears stapled to a backup role behind Antti Niemi, Stalock is now 2-2-1 on the year and will continue to see his fair share of starts as the season wears on. He was excellent Saturday, getting his first win in four games. Stalock is a reliable fantasy option whenever Niemi is on the bench.(RotoWire, )

News: Stalock was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and appears likely to receive the start Saturday against the Stars, Kevin Kurz of reports. Impact: It no longer looks like Stalock is in contention for the No. 1 goalie job, as Antti Niemi has solidified his standing atop the depth chart with five consecutive starts. Still, Stalock should remain a quality fantasy option nearly every time he gets the nod, Saturday's start included. Though the Stars have a collection of talented players on offense, they'll start one of the weaker backup goalies in Anders Lindback, putting Stalock in good shape to snag a win.(RotoWire, )
