News: Barkov (illness) will be back in the lineup Thursday against the Sharks, Steve Goldstein of FOX Sports Florida reports. Impact: Barkov was scratched from Tuesday's game with an illness, but demonstrated he was healthy by taking part in the Panthers' early skate without incident. The 19-year-old has all the promise in the world, but his production has yet to match his immense gifts. He's tallied just two goals and an assist over 13 games this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Barkov is dealing with an illness and looks set to miss Tuesday's game against the Kings, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Impact: Rocco Grimaldi has already been scratched AHL San Antonio's game, suggesting he could be en route to Los Angeles to fill out the Panthers' forward ranks. Barkov, who previously missed two contests earlier this season with a lower-body injury, has just three points and a minus-4 rating over 13 games.(RotoWire, )

News: Barkov connected with Brian Campbell for a power play assist in the third period in Friday's shootout loss to the Islanders. Impact: Barkov has had a slow start to his 2014-15 campaign but he has posted two points in his last two games, which is a positive sign he could turn things around. Barkov is still being relied on to produce and he led the Panthers' forwards with just under 20 minutes of ice time Friday, including three minutes on the power play in the loss.(RotoWire, )

News: Barkov scored his second goal of the season Tuesday in a 4-1 win over San Jose. He also added two shots and two hits. Impact: This is only the second point of the season for Barkov and the goal Tuesday ended up being his first game-winner. Barkov is still centering the first line and was playing his first game with new linemates in Tomas Kopecky and Scottie Upshall. Florida has been changing their lines regularly, so don't expect this trio to stay together for very long, but Barkov seems to be locked in as Florida's No. 1 center. Watch him closely and if he can string a few games with consecutive points -- he should still be available on the waiver wire.(RotoWire, )
