News: The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed forward Luke Adam to a one-year, two-way contract, which provides them the option to have him play in the minors. Impact: Adam was a restricted free agent after being tendered a contract offer by the team last month. He was selected in the second round of the 2008 draft, and has played parts of four seasons with the Sabres. Adam has 15 goals and 11 assists for 26 points in 87 NHL games.(STATS, 5:18pm)

News: Adam, who was given a qualifying offer by Buffalo in June, re-signed Sunday on a one-year contract. Impact: A second-round pick in a pretty loaded 2008 draft class, Adam has been one of the Sabres' most perplexing prospects. The 24-year-old can be a feared power forward when he is performing well, but his inconsistency is maddening. Adam had a good season for the Amerks, but did little in 12 games with the Sabres (one goal, 16 shots). The Sabres are going to give him another year to prove himself, and on a team loaded with prospects, a poor performance could mean a change of scenery.(RotoWire, )
