News: McElhinney made 24 saves on 27 shots for his first win of the season Friday against Philadelphia. Impact: McElhinney may have earned his first win, but he's about to take a seat on the bench, as Sergei Bobrovsky (finger) has been activated off injured reserve and could resume his starting duties as early as Saturday. McElhinney has struggled with Bobrovky injured, posting a 1-5-1 record to go with a .887 save percentage and 3.65 GAA. Once Bobrovsky officially returns, McElhinney loses the majority of his fantasy value, as the 31-year-old has done nothing to show he can be trusted in any league.(RotoWire, )

News: McElhinney is set to make another start Friday against the Flyers. Impact: Though Sergei Bobrovsky will travel with the Blue Jackets to Philadelphia, it doesn't appear that he's comfortable enough with how his glove is fitting on his broken finger to return to the net just yet. As a result, McElhinney's run as the Blue Jackets' No. 1 option in goal figures to be extended for yet another game, though he's hardly deserved that reward. McElhinney is 0-5-1 with a 3.76 GAA and .887 save percentage over seven outings this season, as the Blue Jackets have failed to win a single game this season when Bobrovsky hasn't played.(RotoWire, )

News: McElhinney took yet another loss Tuesday, giving up four goals on 32 shots in Washington. Impact: He's now 0-5-1 in seven games (six starts) with the Jackets this year, which has the entire city of Columbus waiting with bated breath for the return of Sergei Bobrovsky (finger), which is slated for next week.(RotoWire, )

News: McElhinney will be in the cage Tuesday against the Capitals. Impact: McElhinney played well in relief of Anton Forsberg on Saturday against the Lightning, but still saw his record drop to 0-5-1 in the 7-4 defeat. The Blue Jackets have yet to record a victory since Sergei Bobrovsky hit injured reserve with a broken finger, and with no definitive timetable for the netminder's return, McElhinney will be the team's top option by default.(RotoWire, )
