News: Lehtonen was bombarded for 41 shots on goal Saturday against the Kings, but stopped 37 of them to escape with the victory. Impact: Staked to a 4-0 lead early in the second period, Lehtonen nearly gave it all away before shutting out the Kings over final 9:16. Though Lehtonen was able to bring his record to three games over .500 with the victory, the Stars seem to be winning in spite of him than because of him. The netminder ranks 33rd among qualifying goalies in GAA (2.98) and 31st in save percentage (.906).(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen is in line to man the crease Saturday versus the Kings, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports. Impact: Lehtonen has been incredibly inconsistent of late -- he's bookended a three-game stretch where he allowed a total of 12 goals with a shutout and an outing in which he saved 26 of 27 attempts. The shutout did come against the Kings under two weeks ago, but it still seems dicey to trust Lehtonen to submit a similarly strong performance in the rematch.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen tightened up his game Thursday, stopping 26 of 27 in a 3-1 win over the Coyotes. Impact: Coming on the heels of two consecutive miserable starts in which he gave up 10 goals in less than five periods of play, this is a huge bounce-back effort for Lehtonen. He's been well below his usual standards this year, but it doesn't help that he's been facing a ton of rubber -- more than 30 shots per game.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen is set to start Thursday's game against the Coyotes, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' website reports. Impact: Lehtonen was the first goalie off the ice following Thursday's morning skate, which lines him up to start Thursday night. He has struggled the last few weeks, but one of the two wins he's picked up since Oct. 24 came in a 4-3 victory over the Coyotes on Nov. 11.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen gave up four goals on 16 shots before being yanked in the second period of Tuesday's 6-4 loss to Carolina. Impact: Anders Lindback wasn't much better in relief, but that's no huge consolation to Lehtonen owners, who've seen the typically superbly consistent netminder struggle his way through this season. He's now allowed 10 goals in the last two games and taken eight losses (six in regulation) over his last 10 starts. However, Lindback isn't coming for his job, and neither prospect Jack Campbell nor offseason signing Jussi Rynnas have had huge success in the AHL this year.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen is set to start Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes, Mark Stepneski of NHL.com reports. Impact: Lehtonen was the first goalie off the ice following Tuesday's morning skate, which puts him on track to start Tuesday night. He has struggled recently outside of a shutout victory over the Kings last Thursday, but will have a nice matchup Tuesday against a Carolina squad that sits 28th in the league in scoring and has tallied just two goals over its last three games.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen allowed six goals on 47 shots in Sunday's loss to the Blackhawks. Impact: Kari was sure Lehtonen the goals Sunday, as he was hung out to dry against the offensively-talented Blackhawks. Lehtonen has lost two straight games, dropping to 6-5-4 on the season. Although he is starting almost every game, Lehtonen certainly hasn't been at his best lately, even if you take into account the lackluster defense in front of him. He''ll come around, as the Stars are relying on him as the backbone to their success.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen will start in net against Chicago on Sunday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. Impact: Lehtonen has performed better on the road than at home this season, so there may be a slight advantage in that regard to going with Lehtonen on Sunday. On the season as a whole, he's got a 2.68 GAA to go along with a .912 save percentage.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen managed 20 saves on 22 shots in Saturday afternoon's home loss to the Wild. Impact: Lehtonen is just plain snake-bitten at home this year, as he's now a dismal 1-3-4 with a .898 save percentage and bloated 3.08 GAA at American Airlines Arena. Compare that to his 5-1-0 record, .930 save percentage and 2.14 GAA on the road, and owners have a real predicament on their hands. Should you only start him on the road? Probably not, as the Stars should eventually find success at home, but the situation bears monitoring if they continue to struggle in Big D.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen led the Stars onto the ice for pregame warmups and will be in the crease Saturday against the Wild, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports. Impact: Lehtonen is coming off his best outing of the season: a 27-save shutout victory over the Kings on Thursday. The netminder owns a commendable 6-3-4 record on the season, but he's mostly ridden the coattails of a Stars offense in those victories. Lehtonen's 2.72 GAA and .912 save percentage rank close to the middle or the bottom of the pack among all goaltenders.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen made 27 saves in Thursday's 2-0 win in Los Angeles. Impact: It was his first shutout of the season and it came at a good time. Lehtonen had been 1-3-2 with a 3.16 goals-against average in his previous six starts.(STATS, 5:02pm)
Fri. Nov 14, 2014
News: Lehtonen stopped all 27 shot attempts by the Kings in Thursday's 2-0 victory. Impact: A much-needed first shutout of the year for Lehtonen, who's had trouble establishing consistent stretches of high-quality play. He'd allowed three or more goals in four straight games coming in, so this is pretty unusual. Nonetheless, it's his second straight win, and he and the Stars will try to build on that.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and should be in the net Thursday against the Kings, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. Impact: Lehtonen got back into the win column Tuesday against the Coyotes, but with at least three goals allowed in five of his last six starts, he hasn't exactly been reliable of late. In leagues with daily lineup moves, it might be best to keep Lehtonen on the bench against the reigning Stanley Cup champs so as to avoid any further hits to the GAA and save percentage categories.(RotoWire, )

News: Lehtonen was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and is in line to make the start Tuesday against the Coyotes, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. Impact: Lehtonen enters play Tuesday riding a five-game losing streak, but an outing against the cellar-dwelling Coyotes could prove to be the antidote to what ails him. The Finnish goalie has given up three or more goals in four of the five starts during the losing skid, dragging his save percentage down to .904 for the season.(RotoWire, )
Tue. Nov 11, 2014
News: Lehtonen made 34 saves on 37 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Coyotes, putting a stop to his five-game losing streak. Impact: The Finnish minder had taken the last three losses in regulation. But this wasn't really a hugely improved outing for Lehtonen, as he's allowed three or more goals in five of the last six games. The biggest difference, really, was that the Stars' offense showed up for him this time, as they only tallied eight goals over the course of that five-game skid.(RotoWire, )
