News: Stempniak (minus-1) registered an assist in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Islanders. Impact: The New York native also led all skaters with six shots on goal. In addition to skating on the team's second line with Derick Brassard and Chris Kreider, head coach Alain Vigneault used the 31-year-old on the team's second power play unit. Despite his team's struggles, Stempniak has proven to be a good value in the early going, logging two goals and two assists in his last three games.(RotoWire, )

News: Stempniak scored his second goal of the season and assisted on another in a 6-3 loss to Toronto on Sunday. Impact: Stempniak also added a goal Saturday against Columbus, so the veteran has now scored in consecutive games. He's playing on the third line, but also got some time on the team's power-play unit, which could increase his limited fantasy value.(RotoWire, )

News: Stempniak provided a goal in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jackets. Impact: Signed to a one-year deal in the offseason, Stempniak appears to have settled into a third-line role with the Rangers to begin the new campaign. He'll effectively be asked to replace the departed Benoit Pouliot, a role that doesn't figure to generate a ton of fantasy appeal.(RotoWire, )
