News: Girgensons and the Sabres had their scheduled game Friday against the Rangers postponed due to the extreme weather conditions in the Buffalo area, Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record reports. Impact: Though the Sabres were able to complete Tuesday's game against the Sharks when the snowstorm wasn't at its worst, some parts of the region have now received up to six feet of snow, making travel unsafe and extremely difficult. No make-up date has been announced yet for the game, but appears the Sabres remain on track to head to Washington for Saturday's game.(RotoWire, )

News: Girgensons will be the Sabres' No. 1 center, playing between Tyler Ennis and Matt Moulson, for the foreseeable future, reports the Olean Times Herald. Impact: We've been Girgensons fans for a very long time and now it's paying off. As creative as Ennis is, he's undersized at center and prefers the wing anyway, and Girgensons has the size and two-way smarts to cover for Ennis and Moulson. The trio has scored 14 points in three games as a unit, forming head coach Ted Nolan's favorite and most reliable line. Girgensons is on pace to clear 20 goals easily already, and he's particularly helpful in leagues that count faceoffs.(RotoWire, )

News: Girgensons scored twice in Buffalo's 6-2 win over Toronto on Saturday night. He has picked up two points in each of his last two games. Impact: Don't look now, but Girgensons has six points, including four goals, in his last five games and seven in his last seven. He had put up just three points in his first 12 games of the season. He's working hard, but the Sabres are awful, so don't expect him to maintain this kind of pace this season. Still, the Latvian forward is already two goals away from equalling last year's total of eight just 19 games into the season. He's one of head coach Ted Nolan's most trusted forwards and a 20-goal season isn't out of the realm of possibility. Though his offensive skills are limited he's really emerging as Buffalo's most reliable center on a nightly basis.(RotoWire, )

News: Girgensons assisted on the Sabres' first goal and scored the second, helping to chase Darcy Kuemper from the net, in Thursday's loss to Minnesota. Impact: Although Girgensons only has eight points in 18 games this season, four of them have come in the last four, so he's at least warming up a bit. While his offense remains sparing, he gains some extra value in formats that count hits, as he's racked up 44 of those so far.(RotoWire, )
