Rantanen and Sven Andrighetto had two assists each for the Avalanche in Friday's 3-1 win over the Ducks.
Rantanen has been productive with four assists over the past three games.
Rantanen chipped in a pair of power-play assists Friday night, helping the Avalanche to a 3-1 home win over the Ducks.
The good news is that Rantanen recorded his first multi-point contest of the season and extended his streak of at least one goal or assist to three games. However, the bad news is that linemate Nathan MacKinnon left the game with a potentially serious eye injury.
Rantanen has collected a goal and two assists while averaging 16:52 of ice time (4:30 on the power play) through the first four games of the season.
The 20-year-old winger has been locked in alongside Nathan MacKinnon atop the Colorado depth chart to start the season, so it's encouraging that Rantanen is being set up for success and also finding the scoresheet. After recording 20 goals and 38 points during his first full campaign in the league last year, Rantanen is in position to take another step forward offensively in 2017-18.
Rantanen had a goal as the Avalanche beat the Rangers 4-2 in the teams' opener Thursday night.
Rantanen picked up right where he left off as a rookie last season, when he had 20 goals and 18 assists in 75 games.
