Henrik and Daniel Sedin are twin brothers in the NHL. They were drafted second (Daniel) and third (Henrik) in the 1999 draft by the Vancouver Canucks and made their debut together in 2000. Of course, they aren't always the same. Henrik is the team's captain, but Daniel is only an alternate. And Henrik won the Hart Trophy for league MVP; Daniel has only been nominated.

Brent Johnson (pictured) has NHL ties that go back three generations starting with his father, who is former NHL goaltender Bob Johnson. And Brent's grandfather is Sid Abel, who played for 13 seasons in the NHL, including three Stanley Cup wins with the Detroit Red Wings. Sid was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1969.

Tony Granato began his career in 1988 before retiring from the NHL in 2001. Granato has served as an assistant coach and head coach in the league and is currently part of the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. His sister, Cammi, won a gold medal in 1998 and a silver in 2002 with the U.S. women's Olympic hockey team. She was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010, becoming one of the first women to be inducted into the Hall.

Maurice "The Rocket" Richard played for the Montreal Canadiens from 1942 to 1960 and was one of the most prolific goal scorers at the time. He also won eight Stanley Cups with the team, including five in a row from 1956 to 1960. Maurice was inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961. Meanwhile, his brother, Henri "The Pocket Rocket" Richard (pictured), followed in his footsteps ... and then some. Henri won 11 Stanley Cups as a player, more than any other player in NHL history. He joined his brother in the Hall of Fame in 1979.

Peter (pictured), Anton and Marian Stastny defected from Czechoslovakia in the early 1980s to play in the NHL. Peter was named the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1998. And the Stastny family talent has been handed down to Peter's sons — Yan is a pro hockey player in Russia and Paul plays for the Colorado Avalanche.

Hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Hull played 24 seasons in professional hockey. His son, Brett, spent 21 seasons in the NHL. Both were elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame and they're the only father-son duo with more than 50 goals in a season and more than 600 NHL goals apiece. And if that wasn't enough, Bobby's brother Dennis also played in the NHL, including eight seasons alongside his brother on the Chicago Blackhawks.

The four Staal brothers have had varying success in the NHL. Oldest brother Erik plays for the Carolina Hurricanes, Marc for the New York Rangers, Jordan for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and youngest brother Jared (not pictured) with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers, a minor-league affiliate for the Hurricanes. And two of them, Erik and Jordan, are both Stanley Cup champions.

Gordie Howe is considered one of the best NHL players of all-time, but he's not the only one with hockey talent in his family. His sons, Mark and Marty, were his teammates when the three played for the WHA's Houston Aeros and the NHL's Hartford Whalers. It was the only time a father played with his sons in the history of the NHL. If that wasn't enough, all three shared the same sports agent: Gordie's wife, Colleen. Gordie was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972 with son Mark joining him in 2011.

Phil and his brother Tony played on opposite ends of the ice, but both had big-time talent. Forward Phil is fifth on the list of all-time regular season goals and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984. Goaltender Tony was a three-time Vezina Trophy winner as best goalie in the league and was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1988.

Scott and Rob Niedermayer's mother had a tough choice in 2003: Which Stanley Cup final team to root for? Scott played for, and eventually won the Cup with, the New Jersey Devils while brother Rob was on the Anaheim Ducks. Luckily, the two brothers won Lord Stanley's Cup together as members of the 2007 champion Ducks. Scott officially retired in 2010 while Rob currently plays in Switzerland.

The Sutter family is well entrenched in the NHL. Six brothers — Brent, Brian, Darryl, Duane, Rich and Ron — played in the NHL in the 1970s and '80s. They reached 5,000 total games played and won six Stanley Cups among them. But the talent didn't end there. Brent's son Brandon and Darryl's son Brett also play in the NHL.

The Suters have not only had NHL success but also Olympic success. Bob Suter was a member of the "Miracle on Ice" US Olympic hockey team in 1980. His brother Gary (pictured), who also played 17 seasons in the NHL, won a silver medal as part of the 2002 Olypmic hockey team. And Nashville Predators star Ryan Suter, Bob's son, was a member of the 2010 Olympic team that won a silver medal in Vancouver.

Bryan Hextall won a Stanley Cup in 1940 with the New York Rangers before being elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1969. His sons, Bryan Jr. and Dennis, followed in his footsteps with their own NHL careers, including stints with their father's former Rangers. And Bryan Jr.'s son Ron (pictured) spent 13 seasons backstopping the Philadelphia Flyers.
