News: The Islanders reportedly aren't planning to trade Okposo during this weekend's NHL Entry Draft, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Impact: General manager Garth Snow could just be trying to drive up the price by leaking this to the media, or perhaps the offers he was receiving just weren't to his liking. If Okposo remains with the team during the upcoming season, he's expected to again skate on the top line with John Tavares.

News: The Islanders are fielding trade inquiries on Okposo, Newsday reports.
Impact: It seems general manager Garth Snow has a choice: either sign Okposo long-term to a contract north of $50 million, or trade him before he becomes a free agent after the 2015-16 season. Another element for Snow to consider is who plays on the top line with John Tavares if Okposo is dealt. The Isles could never find a reliable third player to complete their top line with Tavares and Okposo last season.
