News: Armia was one of four players traded to the Jets on Wednesday in exchange for Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian, and prospect Jason Kasdorf, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports.
Impact: The 16th overall pick by the Sabres in 2011, Armia made his NHL debut in December. He was quickly dispatched back to the Sabres' AHL affiliate in Rochester soon thereafter and has continued to thrive in the minors this season, posting 10 goals and 15 assists over 33 games. Expect him to report to AHL St. John's for his new organization, with an opportunity to join the Jets perhaps coming later in the season if injuries compromise the team's depth at forward. Armia possesses tons of potential and was one of AHL Rochester's best players all season. He'll battle for a top-six role in training camp next season.
