News: Doughty is expected to report to camp around 195 pounds after playing above 200 pounds in each of his previous seven seasons, Mark Whicker of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Impact: After averaging a career-high 29:00 of ice time last season, a more than three-minute jump from 2013-14, Doughty is hoping a sleeker frame will keep him better conditioned to stay on the rink for roughly half a game. The Kings don't want Doughty to get too far under 200 pounds and risk a decline in his ability to outmuscle opposing forwards, but for conditioning purposes, the weight drop should help him. In addition to the career-high minutes total, Doughty recorded seven goals and 46 points last season en route to a runner-up finish in the Norris Trophy balloting.
