News: Seidenberg, who is slated to undergo surgery to repair a lumbar spine disc herniation, is expected to miss about eight weeks of action.
Impact: Per the report, Seidenberg is expected to make a full recovery, with his absence representing a blow to the depth and experience level of the Bruins' defensive corps in the meantime. While Zdeno Chara, Torey Krug and Adam McQuaid appear locked into key roles to start the season, the likes of Zach Trotman, Kevan Miller, Matt Irwin, Colin Miller and Joe Morrow now figure to jostle for blue line slotting behind that trio.

News: Seidenberg is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will miss the first few days of training camp, Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald reports.
Impact: It doesn't seem as though the injury is too serious in nature, or something that fantasy owners should be overly concerned about, but Seidenberg's status is worth following. The 34-year-old defender registered 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) and 212 hits in 82 games with the Bruins last season.
